It was a beautiful sunny weekend. and we spent all of Saturday doing yard work...mowing the lawn, weeding, lots of fun stuff. You'd never know that the picture below is an improvement...but Dom knows what it looked like before! COVERED in weeds. Danny helped by moving the rocks all around the side yard while I pulled the weeds.
We did manage to have some fun outside too, but no one stayed still long enough for me to get a decent picture! Here's the closest I got to getting everyone together in one shot :)

It's hard to remember that it was ever cold here in California now that it's sunny and 70...but we did have a few weeks of cold weather. Here's Danny showing off his super cool Bruins hat that Brian sent us while braving the chill.
How cute is this?

Pardon the lack of blogging this weekend, but Danny surprised me by climbing out of his crib yesterday, so I spent the weekend tracking down a toddler bed and figuring how to assemble it and disassemble the crib with a 2 year old helper! So far so good, but Danny has a big week ahead of him between the toddler bed, daylight savings, and me starting my new job tomorrow...fingers crossed for a smooth transition through all of it!
Someone joined me in bed for some cuddle time after he woke up this morning. Normally he plays in his crib, but obviously that's out now!

Danny and I caught this shot of a peacock from the preserve down the street on an afternoon walk recently.

Projects
I started with our wet bar. This was originally one big dark brown cabinet wasting a corner of our living room. I took the doors off the top cabinets, and painted the whole thing black to match the rest of our living room. Here is the project as it stands...I've ordered glass shelves for the upper left cabinet, which will hold wine glasses with the liquor remaining where it is. The right side of the cabinet is going to become one giant wine rack. Our proximity to Napa County has completely overwhelmed our previous wine rack...but I haven't been able to find a ready made rack to fit.
This morning, however, after the Volkswagen dealership remembered that the tire sensor I needed repaired cost $200 something instead of $40 something like they originally told me, I decided to say no thank you and go to Ikea. (Where I did NOT buy everything is sight Dom, don't worry! )
While there, I found some wooden bottle racks for a kitchen shelving unit for $8 each. I LOVE IKEA! They are currently in our garage being painted black and I will install them in the cabinet when they are dry. Not perfect, but a pretty decent solution for now. I'll post pictures when it's finally finished too.

I also managed to find some shelves for a big empty space in our living room. I've been trying to set things up kind of like this image from Pottery Barn, and I think it's working pretty well.
